Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayiro away in USA

[Athi River, 10th January 2025] The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro is away on an official trip the USA from 15th January to 3rd February 2025.

Before his departure, Prof. Ayiro appointed Prof. Muturi Wachira, the DVC- Finance, Administration and Planning, as the Acting Vice-Chancellor.  He made the announcement during a Special Senate Meeting held at the Main Campus Athi River on 10th January 2025.

At the same time, Prof. Ayiro also appointed the Chief Manager Finance, CPA Phyllis Mutua, as the Acting DVC- Finance, Administration and Planning. 

Prof. Ayiro also announced the appointment of Prof. Samuel Muriithi, as the Acting DVC-Academic, Research and Student Affairs.  Prof. Muriithi who was recently appointed Director for ODEL (Online, Distance and Electronic Learning), will serve as the Ag. DVC-ARSA until the University Council has substantively recruited for the position which fell vacant following the passing of Prof. Faith Nguru.
